Madison Lake is a perfect place to go and kick back for a weekend.  There are four campgrounds and many different parks.  There is also a state trail; the scenic Sakatah Trail is a 39 mile hard surface trail enjoyed by bikers and hikers during the summer months, while cross-country skiers, snowshoers and snowmobilers enjoy the trail during the winter months. The trail passes along the north part of Madison Lake showcasing three beautiful lakes:  Ballantyne, Madison and Duck. It runs east to west starting near Warsaw and ending near Mankato.
